more plants please: a beginner's embroidery workshop
a beginner's hand-embroidery workshop with me!

time & location
29 Jul, 11:00 – 30 Jul, 16:00
4bid Gallery, Overtoom 301, 1054 HW Amsterdam, Netherlands
about the event
There isn't much I love more than embroidery, I can spend hours sitting on a train, a couch, the floor, or anywhere with half-decent lighting and creating, what I often think of as, fibre paintings. It gives me a moment to think, breath, and allow something that's been swirling around in my head to come out onto fabric. And so, after years of cultivating my own hand-embroidery practice, I thought it was time to share it with others!
On Saturday 29th July, I will be hosting my first hand-embroidery workshop where I will teach 5 basic embroidery stitches; the back stitch, the stem stich, the french knot, the satin stitch, and (my personal favourite) the short & long stitch.
The workshop will take place at 4bid Gallery and run from 11:00 - 16:00. The cost of the workshop, including all the necessary materials, is €50 per person.
If you would like to book your spot alongside me and other thread enthusiasts, send me an email at andreavdkuil@gmail.com with the subject line: 'more plants please'.
I look forward to meeting, teaching, and sharing my love for embroidery with you!
